REQUIRED EAR TAGGING FOR 2019 DIXON MAY FAIR
DIXON, CA. All youth who intend to exhibit market livestock at the 2019 Dixon May Fair must have their animal pre-tagged in order to compete during the Fair, May 9-12, 2019.
For the first time, steers will not be tagged at the Fairgrounds as they have been in previous years. Youth intending to exhibit market steers must have their steer tagged, entry form, photo of the steer (front & side view), bill of sale, proof of insurance and pay entry fees to the Fair office by January 9, 2019. Ear tags are available at the Fair office from December 3, 2018 – December 21, 2018 and January 2 – January 8.
Youth intending to exhibit market swine must have their swine tagged, entry form and fees in by March 8, 2019. Ear tags are available in the Fair office from February 22 to March 6, 2019.
All youth who intend to exhibit market sheep and market goats at the 2019 Dixon May Fair must bring their animals to the Fairgrounds for ear tagging and pre-weigh-ins. Market sheep and market goats will be tagged on Saturday, March 9 between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Exhibitors will need to submit entry forms and pay fees the day of tagging.
Small market animal owners (rabbit, chicken, quail & turkey) must submit an entry form that includes the birth date and leg band/tattoo numbers; along with entry fees, a bill of sale and photo of the animal(s) to the Fair office by April 9.
Market classes are only open to residents of Solano County or members of a Solano County 4-H Club, FFA Chapter or Recognized Grange. Independent Juniors must be a resident of Solano County and meet all qualifications as described in the Exhibit Guidebook available at the Fair’s website www.DixonMayFair.com. Independent juniors are encouraged to contact the Fair, prior to December 20, to assure they are eligible to exhibit a market animal at the Dixon May Fair.
