REQUIRED EAR TAGGING FOR 2019 DIXON MAY FAIR
DIXON, CA. All youth who intend to exhibit market livestock at the 2019 Dixon May Fair must have their animal pre-tagged in order to compete during the Fair, May 9-12, 2019.
Youth intending to exhibit market swine must have their swine tagged, entry form and fees in by March 8, 2019. Ear tags are available in the Fair office from February 22 to March 6, 2019.
All youth who intend to exhibit market sheep and market goats at the 2019 Dixon May Fair must bring their animals to the Fairgrounds for ear tagging and pre-weigh-ins. Market sheep and market goats will be tagged on Saturday, March 9 between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Exhibitors will need to submit entry forms and pay fees the day of tagging.
Rabbit market animal owners must submit an entry form that includes the birth date and leg band/tattoo numbers; along with entry fees, a bill of sale and photo of the animal(s) to the Fair office by April 9.
Due to the presence of Virulent Newcastle Disease in the state and out of an abundance of caution the poultry show has been canceled for the 2019 Dixon May Fair.
Market classes are only open to residents of Solano County or members of a Solano County 4-H Club, FFA Chapter or Recognized Grange. Independent Juniors must be a resident of Solano County and meet all qualifications as described in the Exhibit Guidebook available at the Fair’s website www.DixonMayFair.com. Independent juniors are encouraged to contact the Fair to assure they are eligible to exhibit a market animal at the Dixon May Fair. Contact the Fair office at 707 678-5529 with any questions.
