REQUIRED EAR TAGGING FOR 2020 DIXON MAY FAIR

DIXON, CA.  All youth who intend to exhibit market livestock at the 2020 Dixon May Fair must have their animal pre-tagged in order to compete during the Fair, May 7-10, 2020.

Youth intending to exhibit market steers must have their steer tagged, entry form, photo of the steer (front & side view), bill of sale, proof of insurance and pay entry fees to the Fair office by January 7, 2020.  Ear tags will be available at the Fair office, during office hours, from December 2, 2019 – December 20, 2019 and January 2nd, 3rd & 6th.

Youth intending to exhibit market swine must have their swine tagged, entry form and fees in by March 6, 2020.  Ear tags will be available in the Fair office, during office hours, from February 20 to March 4, 2020.

All youth who intend to exhibit market sheep and market goats at the 2020 Dixon May Fair must bring their animals to the Fairgrounds for ear tagging and pre-weigh-ins.  Market sheep and market goats will be tagged on Saturday, March 7 between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m.  Exhibitors will need to submit entry forms and pay fees the day of tagging.

Small market animal owners (rabbit, chicken, quail & turkey) must submit an entry form that includes the birth date and leg band/tattoo numbers; along with entry fees, a bill of sale and photo of the animal(s) to the Fair office by April 7.

Market classes are only open to residents of Solano County or members of a Solano County 4-H Club, FFA Chapter or Recognized Grange. Independent Juniors must be a resident of Solano County, if the Independent has graduated from high school and meets the age requirements as specified in the rules, then they must have, at the time of graduation, been a Solano County resident and currently reside in Solano County.  If an exhibitor is enrolled in an out-of-county (not Solano County) 4-H/FFA and /or Grange, and exhibits and sells market livestock at a junior livestock auction at an out of county (not Solano County) fairgrounds, regardless of whether the show or sale is sponsored by a Fair, then their eligibility lies in the county in which the 4-H/FFA and/or Grange is registered and therefore the exhibitor is not  eligible to exhibit a market animal at the Dixon May Fair as an independent, 4-H/FFA and/or Grange member. Independent juniors are encouraged to contact the fair, prior to December 20, to assure they are eligible to exhibit a market animal at the Dixon May Fair.  Contact the Fair office at 707 678-5529 with any questions.
